Skydive Geronimo has thrown its weight behind a novel initiative to encourage West Australians to support the beleaguered local tourism industry this Christmas.

The ‘Gift a WA Tourism Experience’ is the brainchild of a group of around 25 tour operators and locations which have banded together to encourage people to spread the love this festive season with a gift of a uniquely West Australian tourism experience.

‘For many West Australians, lockdown actually meant unlocking a whole new world of travel opportunities in their own backyard,” said Skydive Geronimo founder and owner, Glenn Stutt.  “However, despite increasing visitor numbers and greater patronage of hotels and restaurants, people are still tending to explore independently.  This needs to change and hopefully, this initiative will have a positive impact.

“We think there’s no better way to experience WA’s world-class locations and unique attractions than with passionate and knowledgeable tour guides who love telling stories.  A guided experience unlocks the secrets behind the scenery and can turn a great day out into a once-in-a-lifetime encounter,” he said.  “It’s a win-win scenario and that’s why we’re right behind this drive to encourage people to swap a Christmas list item for a bucket list experience.”

Skydive Geronimo is Australia’s premier skydive experience, offering tandem skydives with beach landings in one of WA’s most iconic locations, stunning Rottnest Island.   They offer several different skydiving experiences, including ferry/skydiving packages and a helicopter jump.

“But adrenalin junkies aren’t the only ones who’d be thrilled to find a ‘Gift a WA Tourism Experience’ under the Christmas tree,” Stutt continued.  “There are quality tours and experiences to suit everyone including whale watching, pearl farming, zip lining, cultural and heritage experiences,  wine-tasting, fruit-picking, kids’ activities and art and craft tours.”
