Rapid service expansion and key strategic hires will see Lexicon Digital enter FY21 chasing another year of significant workforce growth.
“The market is especially focussed on making value-additive technology investments during COVID-19, so our team will continue to grow in response to this,” Lexicon’s managing director Chris Carydias said.
Lexicon’s workforce grew by more than 40% across Melbourne and Sydney despite 2020’s turbulent economic conditions, with new leadership hires enabling the business to boost its service offering.
Paul Jenkins joined as people and capability principal and will support the software and design consultancy’s expansion into new service verticals, as well as its acceleration within the Sydney market.
Jenkins draws on a successful history of driving some of Australia’s major tech consulting success stories, having led people and culture activities for Odecee (since acquired by Cognizant) and Versent Group.
“The software and design industries are seeing high-calibre talent begin to move or be displaced, as organisations respond to COVID-19’s impacts on their business,” said Jenkins.
“We’re well-placed to engage the best of these people, especially as our business diversifies its offering, both within and beyond its software delivery foundations.”
Lexicon moved into its new Melbourne headquarters in April, undertaking a full redesign of the 400sqm office to maximise employee experience, as well as provide an inspiring place for the team to continue its rapid growth trajectory.
Lexicon also commenced a Strava club in response to remote working conditions, allowing team members to track their running, walking and cycling efforts, with $1 per kilometre donated to major Australian charities.
FY21 will see the workforce scale toward the 100-strong milestone, with the growth coming from new clients and capabilities, alongside continued expansion of long-term delivery partnerships.
“We’re a business that’s heavily focussed on sustainable growth, and this is spearheaded by securing the best talent in the market, as great people always add the most strategic value for our clients,” said Jenkins.
