Girl Guides SA have launched their new all-abilities-access accommodation and new playground equipment at Douglas Gully Road, Blewett Spring.
An Open Day held on Sunday, September 22 saw the Girl Guides SA launch their upgraded facilities with the support of the children's charity Variety SA.
The campsite has been used by the Girl Guides and other groups for forty years and this upgrade has been funded by a significant grant provided by Variety SA. It now makes the accommodation all accessible for young people to stay in and new special equipment to play on.
Throughout the day the girl guides put on demonstrations and displays and held engaging activities for the public. Peter De Cure, Board Member and member of the Grants Committee of Variety SA officially launched the upgrade alongside Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink and Girl Guides SA CEO Kerrie Akkermans. Ms Akkermans said it was a great day of celebration with many members attending.
