Monday, August 20th, 2018 - CFO Accelerator

Two leading executive coaching and consultancy firms, CFO Accelerator and Blue Ocean Strategy Australia, have partnered in an effort to educate executives on the crucial role that CFOs perform in the success or failure of their business innovation programmes.

The two firms are bringing together CFOs from across industries to explore the role that CFOs and their teams perform in driving business performance through innovation.

By navigating their businesses’ strategies through choppy and uncertain waters, through to the development of new tangible and intangible assets, driving financial and non-financial benefits, and balancing risk with opportunity cost, research conducted by various organisations including the Australian Federal Government’s Office of the Chief Economist[1], shows time and again that innovative businesses have high turnover growth and higher gross operating profits.

The role that CFOs play in their organisation’s innovation efforts will be explored at a series of masterclasses being held across Australia and New Zealand in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland in September.

During the classes, delegates will delve into the innovative Blue Ocean Strategy® strategic planning and change management tools and processes to understand how to create winning and innovative strategies with implementable action plans.

The accelerated learning program will allow participants to understand the changes in strategic logic and culture required to develop genuine innovations for their business, and a strategy to roll these out in market and encourage organisation-wide buy-in.

“In an environment in which disruption has become the norm, senior executives need to take a proactive stance to deliver strategies that allow them to drive company performance,” says James O’Brien Managing Director CFO Accelerator.

“These limited-number masterclasses offer an unparalleled opportunity for CFOs, CEOs, senior executives and their teams to enhance their leadership role in strategy development and execution to win at disruption,” he adds.

“There’s a big difference between destructive and creative disruption and CFOs have to understand how these impact on their businesses,” says Andrew Nelson, Managing Director of Blue Ocean Australia.

“Creative disruption allows businesses to build uncontested markets with products and services consumers crave. Beyond the CEOs who set the scene for culture and strategy, CFOs play the next most crucial role in mustering the organisation’s resources to respond to and drive innovation in their businesses and across their industry.  These workshops will help CFOs and those around them to fully appreciate the importance of their role in innovation and explore exactly how to perform it,” he adds.

The masterclasses are being held in:

  • Brisbane: 4 September 2018
  • Melbourne: 11 September 2018
  • Sydney: 19 September 2018
  • Auckland: 24 September 2018
