The W.A. Italian Club will host the first public release of A Tumultuous Life - the autobiography of former West Australian Premier, Brian Burke, at a lunchtime function at the club of Friday, 25
August.

The President of the club, Joe Radici, said the club had offered to arrange the release because of the Burke family’s long association with the Italian community in Perth.

“Starting with Brian’s father, Tom, who was the federal member for Perth during the years when many Italian families migrated to W.A., the association continued through Terry Burke’s time as the state member for Perth and then with Brian’s time in parliament including as Premier,” the President said.

“I have seen an advance copy of A Tumultuous Life.

“It is the first autobiography by a West Australian Premier and it will be an important piece of West Australian history documenting many of the controversial and exciting things that happened when Brian was Premier,” Mr Radici said.

Everyone attending the first release lunch time function will receive a copy of A Tumultuous Life which will be sold through selected book stores.
